Edgetech very satisfied with glasstec 2018
“Congratulations on a great glasstec, it was the best show ever“, Bob Daniels, President of Quanex IG Systems concurred with the managing director of Edgetech Europe Joachim Stoss: the world’s leading trade fair is still an indispensable industry get-together.
As always, Edgetech Europe GmbH acted as host for customers and colleagues from all round the world. "Our presentation, in connection with the trade fair motto of “Always Present in Prestigious Buildings"
, wonderfully reflected the international mix of our visitors", was the very positive conclusion drawn by Joachim Stoss. Due to the construction boom in Asia, especially in China and the Middle East, the growth prospects for innovative European niche products continue to be bright according to Stoss. Accordingly, the number of visitors from these markets was indicative of a marked increase in interest. In the case of Super Spacer®
, this is mainly by virtue of the structure and functionality of the flexible spacer.
Flexible spacers withstand climate loads better
"A product such as Super Spacer has, so to speak, a long-term memory," explains Edgetech technology specialist Christoph Rubel, "it always returns to its original form." In hot regions such as the Middle East, windows and glass facades are exposed to much higher stresses due to the heat as well as much larger temperature differentials between the inside and outside than in the temperate Central European latitudes. The buildings are also frequently built vertically as tower blocks and consequently increased pressure differentials and wind speeds also act on the edge seal. The mechanical load is significantly reduced due to the mobility of the foam-based spacer. " Super Spacer stands out in terms of its malleability," adds Edgetech’s authorised signatory Johannes von Wenserski. Two spectacular buildings in downtown Dubai were presented at glasstec as case studies with curved or thousands of freely formed insulating glass units: Zaha Hadid’s ‘The Opus’ and Shaun Killa’s ‘Museum of the Future’. "The fact that we have been selected to assist with such complex buildings demonstrates to us that we are on the right track with our Super Spacer product range - and have been for almost 30 years," concludes Joachim Stoss.
