Clear signs of stable market growth in 2018
Edgetech draws positive conclusions following the FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2018 (The Trade Show. Window. Door. Facade.)
Warm edge technology has finally established itself according to Edgetech/Quanex, the world's largest manufacturer of spacers in terms of turnover. The automation of insulating glass production and especially the economical application of spacers in the digitisation and Industry 4.0 field was therefore one of the main focuses at the trade show.
Energy efficiency remains a constant issue in the window and facade construction sector
"It is and remains the most inspiring, global industry get-together", is how Joachim Stoss, managing director of the German company Edgetech Europe GmbH in Heinsberg, summarised the FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2018. Stoss went on to say, "the thing that united the overwhelming majority of the exhibitors was the presentation of economic solutions for the booming energy efficiency sector, and of course, our Super Spacer®
Warm Edge Systems are in the best possible position in this environment." The replacement of windows and the installation of high-quality triple glazing are worthwhile both from an ecological and economical point of view, as demonstrated by a recent study by VFF (Association of Window and Facade Producers) and Bundesverband Flachglas e.V. (German Flat Glass Association). If the market forecasts do turn out to be correct, the window and facade construction industry will enjoy stable growth both in the new building sector and also in the energy-efficient refurbishment field this year. According to Edgetech, discussions with customers and interested parties from the window manufacturing sector were thus most optimistic and mainly centred on two main topics at the trade show stand: the advantages in energy efficiency of flexible warm edge systems such as the Super Spacer®
as well as the possibilities of precise, robot-assisted spacer application.
Flexible spacers that ensure precise positioning
When applying the Super Spacer®
spacer systems, process steps such as the cutting to size, bending and filling of the spacers with desiccant are no longer required. “All well-known machine manufacturers already offer tested, lean, rapid and high-precision solutions for the automated production of insulating glass elements," explains Johannes von Wenserski, Prokurist of Edgetech Europe GmbH. "During the discussions at the Fensterbau Frontale trade show, our Super Spacer meets a lot of approval though its discrete look and feel," he continues with a grin, "because we are of the opinion that a high-quality spacer should demonstrate elegant restraint."
About Edgetech Europe GmbH
Edgetech’s Super Spacer®
flexible foam-based spacer systems act as energy-efficient warm edge spacers in insulating glass windows. They significantly reduce energy loss to the outside, largely prevent condensation and also contribute to the lifespan of a window.
Edgetech Europe GmbH, located in Heinsberg Germany, is a fully-owned subsidiary of Quanex Building Products Corporation, a leading global provider of energy-efficient components such as window and door profile systems, flexible insulating-glass spacers, edge seals for photovoltaic modules, wooden floors and ceiling profiles, as well as window and door grilles, with its head offices in Houston, Texas. Based on turnover Edgetech/Quanex is the world‘s largest manufacturer of spacers. Edgetech Europe GmbH is a sales location for the markets in continental Europe and one of the three worldwide Edgetech production plants, with a total of 450 employees and 16 extruders.
